what’s the difference between an HDTV and an LCD tv?

i’m planning on getting a new TV . i’m leaning more towards an LCD tv, but some saw HDTV is best. to me LCD has better quality in picture then HDTV. i really don’t see any difference between regulre television and HDTV they look the same. what are your thoughts?

How can you tell if a HDTV has good upscaling?

My old TV broke so I figure I might as well buy an HDTV for the new one. However, I mostly use the TV to watch stations which I currently receive in 480p, and to play Playstation 2.

My understanding is whether lower definition signals or the Playstation 2 look good depend on how well the TV scales the picture. How can you tell if a TV handles upscaling well? No one mentions this in reviews and stores show the TVs with high def picture.

How can I connect my computer to my Vizio HDTV through an S-Cable to use the TV as another computer screen?

I have a 37 inch Vizio HDTV and an S-cable. I’ve connected the computer to the TV via S-cable but there are no S-video inputs on the TV menu. I have component 1 component 2, HDMI 1 and 2, AV 1 and 2 but nothing for S-video. Can someone please help?

what is the difference between and hdtv monitor and a build in hdtv?

what are the benefits of each? If I buy a tv with a built in hdtv do I need a cable hdtv receiver?

How can I record HDTV on my computer that comes from a Dish reciever?

If I get an HDTV capture card for my computer, how can I get the HDTV signal from my receiver to my computer which on the other side of my house? Is there anyway I can use like slingbox or something?

How do I get rid of this discoloring green blob image off my HDTV?

So I picked this HDTV from a friend and its one of those really heavy 47″ Sony Trinitron tvs and I have this discoloring on the upper left and right side of the tv and a discoloring on the bottom left. Its a greenish color and its distorting the color/video on the tv. Any ideas what it is and/or how to get rid of it?

What kind of speakers can I buy for a small screen hdtv with digital audio output?

I just bought a 26″ sharp lcd hdtv. The picture is fine, but the speakers are very disappointing. the tv does have a digital output audio. what kind of external speakers/woofers are compatible with this tv? what components will be needed? i reckon a conventional computer speaker wouldn’t work.

What is a good indoor HDTV antenna for under sixty dollars?

I bought a new computer with a HDTV tuner.
I would someone to recommend a specific antenna model that gives you the best HDTV reception for your money. It would be nice if it was also compact.

How do you set an hdtv to optimal picture settings?

I have an Insignia IS-LCDTV26 and the picture is alright right now, but i wanted to get the settings as good as they can be so i can really enjoy the experience of having an hdtv. any help would be appreciated. thanks.
