I am planning on buying a hd tv. But what is the difference between a hd ready tv and a full hd tv?. Will they both show my ps3 in hd?

I really do not want the ps3 for ANY type of gaming but i notice the pricetag is similar to other blu ray players and sometimes even cheaper. Are there any differences in picture/video quality between the ps3 and a sony/sharp/panny blu ray player?? Can someone enlighten me please.

We just got HD Direct Tv Service for our HD Tv. I just had a question.

My local channels do not have their newscasts in HD, and when I searched my zip code at the direct tv website, it says “no local HD channels are available in your area.” Does that mean it just won’t be HD for the local news or it won’t be HD for anything on ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC? Is there any other way to have ABC HD with the Choice package they offer that we have? Thanks!
