iPhone???????
Paulo asked:
Ok i want an iPhone but i have T-Mobile as my phone service. And my parents won’t switch. I’m in High School so i’m still on their plan. But i have heard of these ppl that can convert Cingular phones so they are compatible with T-Mobile sim chips and vice versa. Does anyone have any experience with this? Does it work? Could it be done with the iPhone?

I think you can only use iPhone with AT&T service plans.
The process you’re talking about is called ‘unlocking’. I don’t know when, or if, someone will be able to unlock the phone.
In any case, you have to get a 2 year contract with Cingular/AT&T to buy an iphone. So there’s no practical way to do what you want.
I’m kind of bummed too. I have another year on a two year contract with t-mobile. Ah well.
At this point no you probably can’t unlock the iPhone. Its too new of a phone, not to mention AT&T(cingular) is the exclusive provider for the iPhone for at least the next 5 years or so, maybe longer, so unless you have the $150 to terminate your contract, the $500 for the phone and then $$ for the plan, i don’t think you can get the phone. Wait a while, it’ll come down in the price and the kinks will be worked out by the time you’re contract is over, if you even still want it by then.
the iphone is quad band meaning when people figgure out the iphone alittle more, they sure will unlock the phone.
I sell cell phones for a living and I will tell you- DO NOT BUY THE IPHONE. atleast not till the price drops to 300.
If you need the boost your self confidence in HS cus noone will talk to you, then tell your parents to switch to at&t to get the iphone. You will make alot of friends.
only going to work with At&t wireless because you need their service to run the web, visual voicemail, and texting.
